Proton Saga EV

Before launching the PROTON Green Mobility Challenge 2012 (PGMC2012), PROTON has already developed its own Proton Saga EV. When commercialised, possibly as early as 2013, the car is expected to be priced at around RM70,000.

First previewed in 2009, PROTON's electric vehicles at the moment are still in the test fleet stage. In 2011, PROTON delivered three Proton Saga EVs to the government for the test fleet, as well as five Proton Exora REEVs. For this purpose, several charging stations have been deployed at federal government offices. More will be placed around Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and select locations in Kuala Lumpur.

At the first progress update at MITC, PROTON showcased one such Saga EV.
